Dendreon became one of the biggest success in my portfolio with FDA approval in its "new concept," Provenge for prostate cancer treatment. (extending paitent's life by avg. 5 months with boosting power of person's own immune system, or rather altering recognition system to fight on cancer cells).
Anyway, I have been writing about Dendreon (DNDN) for years and now we finally won the big bucks. There was time when I made awesome profit by jumping in DNDN at 3.9 per share. There was awesome time when we celebrated for putting more fund at 6.9 per share. And there was very happy faces when we added another big fund a week before the FDA approval date.
Now what other firms Simply Speculator watching?
I can tell you I am very closely watching APPY, and am holding CombinatoRx in my portfolio.
CRXX is one of the few that showed big green light today, when most others got tanked with European market trumble.
Now it's time to relax a bit and cash some out from DNDN.
DNDN will likely get buyout offer from Roche in my point of view.
I was the shareholder of Genentech before it got acquired by Roche. I experienced handsome profit ride with Roche's acquisition. Now former executives in Genetech are in DNDN's board. Hmmmm Let's see, DNDN's market cap is 7B now, but honestly, it should be 10B in my point of view. first year's sales will be 500M, next year will be 1B. I see DNDN still under-rated. But you know, if there is bigger opportunity you can find, you should cash out and put money in that.
I expect some firms are going to bargain again after this Euro turmoil; LDK, CSIQ, many airlines, Citigroup, etc.
airlines can be super bargain (like 15% less valued) because of just a shock from Euro turmoil.
One thing you are missing is oil price. Oil price has been going down. Which will give better boost on Airlines. Now, with many countries in Europe having financial problem, they will try to promote making travelers spend more money in their country. So what does that mean? more discount & promotion from some of European countries, and with their currency having weaker power, more travelers coming into there from US. And if they use any of those US airline for traveling, more $$ for airlines. But you know as well as I do that airlines are not stable. So be-careful~!
